In another indication of Myanmar's increased connectivity with the region, verification has come of a bus route to link Myanmar with Thailand and India.
The endeavor, to commence service on November 4, was announced by Thar Naing, chairman of Yangon Air Bus Association, on September 29.
The service, connecting Bangkok in Thailand with Yangon in Myanmar and Imphal in India, will be the first international bus route servicing Myanmar.
According to Thar Naing, the impetus for launching the bus service at this time is to facilitate transportation for December's SEA Games. The games are scheduled to be held from December 1-22 in Myanmar.
Bus fare to travel the entirety of the route will be USD 120, while traveling only from Bangkok to Yangon or Yangon to Imphal will be charged at approximately half the rate.
