Myanmar Vice President U Nyan Tun has called for collaboration for the success of the 27th Southeast Asian Games to be hosted in December in Myanmar, official media reported Wednesday.
Addressing at a work coordination meeting of presidents of Myanmar Sports Federations for 27th SEA Games in Nay Pyi Taw on Tuesday, U Nyan Tun said that it needs to establish good relations between the government and the sports federations.
He called for systematically drafting strategy and plans by all federations.
U Tint Hsan, Chairman of the Leading Committee for holding 27th SEA Games Minister for Sports, urged those present to make more efforts and collaboration for the success of the SEA Games.
Meanwhile, Myanmar government will award a total of 1557 medals -- 460 gold, 460 silver and 637 bronze to the athletes at the SEA Games.
The 27th SEA Games, which will be joined by a total of 11 countries and regions from Southeast Asian region, is scheduled to take place from Dec.11 to 22 in Nay Pyi Taw, Yangon, Mandalay and Ngwe Saung Beach.
In the previous 26th SEA Games, Myanmar has participated with 477 athletes and grabbed 80 medals, standing seventh in the Games.
