January 2005

* Submit the Narrative and Financial Reports of Mizzima News activities and projects in 2004 to the support organizations. Submit the proposals and budget of Mizzima News for 2005 to the support organizations.
* Launch the Web site (at own web server) for the Forum of Burmese Journalists
* Participate in the Shwe Gas Campaign in India
* Organize Solidarity Day with Burma on January 4, 2005. Rally led by Mr. George Fernandes, Member of Parliament and Former Defence Minister of India
* Publishing Mizzima Monthly Journal – January 2005 (18 pages in Burmese and 2 pages in English)
* Daily Mizzima News and Articles on Email Service and Web sites
* Follow Up Activities of two conferences on India-Burma Relations jointly organized with The Other Media
* Evaluate the Second International Convention for the Restoration of Democracy in Burma held in October 2004 in New Delhi via Email
* Evaluate the Mizzima News service and Annual Survey the Readers Response via Email

February 2005

* Organize a Burma Solidarity Seminar “Problems of Democratization in Burma”, jointly with Center for Research in Indo-Bangladesh Relations” in Kolkata, West Bengal, India.
* An Online Internet Forum with an aim to strengthening information and access in Burma is launched.
* Conducts a Roundtable Interview with Burmese intellectuals and activists based in Thailand on the current political situation in Burma.
* Mizzima News produce and publish total 58 news/features in English and 26 news/features in Burmese.
* Mizzima Monthly Journal (Vol. 3 No. 2) is published and distributed.

March 2005

* Begin a new internship program at Mizzima Office
* Strengthen Mizzima Journal Printing and Distribution in Thailand
* Help organize a workshop on “Transitional Justice and National Reconciliation” in India, organized by The Burma Fund.
* Mizzima News produce and publish total 34 news/features in English and 27 news/features in Burmese.
* Mizzima Monthly Journal (Vol. 3 No. 3) is published and distributed.

April 2005

* Participate in the regular meeting of Burma News International (BNI).
* Mizzima News produce and publish total 46 news/features in English and 22 news/features in Burmese.
* Mizzima Monthly Journal (Vol. 3 No. 4) is published and distributed. Total 2,000 copies printed.

May 2005

* Mizzima makes Evaluation of its 2004 projects and programs and send it to the donors and Mizzima friends.
* Conduct training and working on editing video documentary footages on Burma
* Continuation with internship program
* Begin constructing new web designs for Mizzima.com (both Burmese and English)
* Mizzima News produce and publish total 72 news/features in English and 30 news/features in Burmese.
* Mizzima Monthly Journal (Vol. 3 No. 5) is published and distributed.

June 2005

* Produce 3 media alerts on the media situation in Burma jointly with SEAPA/IFEX
* By end June 2005, Mizima News Delhi Office is equipped with 10 computers, one web server (with total 12 persons working in the office) while its Thailand-representative has one computer and its reporter inside Burma has one computer. It had total 23 reporter/contributors/staff in five countries.
* Mizzima News produce and publish total 58 news/features in English and 39 news/features in Burmese.
* Mizzima Monthly Journal (Vol. 3 No. 6) is published and distributed.

July 2005

* Promote quality of Mizzima News by hiring a full-time English Copy Editor, more reporters and freelance reporters in India, Thailand and Bangladesh
* Strengthen Mizzima reporters’ professional journalism skills by sending them to overseas media training and by housing new interns at Mizzima Office
* Set up a News Bureau (new) in Thailand to increase quantity and quality of Mizzima News
* Mizzima News produce and publish total 58 news/features in English and 39 news/features in Burmese.
* Mizzima Monthly Journal (Vol. 3 No. 7) is published and distributed. Total 2,500 copies printed.

August 2005

* Launch online Mizzima Video News (to watch on www.mizzima.com)
* Mizzima News produce and publish total 72 news/features in English and 44 news/features in Burmese.
* Mizzima Monthly Journal (Vol. 3 No. 8) is published and distributed.

September 2005

* Work on formal and informal tie-ups and contracts with other media Agencies (both with payment and non- payment): (BBC, RFA, IANS, CAN, etc.)
* Strengthen translation service for Mizzima News
* Consultation, discussions and meetings for planning Mizzima 2006–07 (planned activities and projects of Mizzima next year) with members and well wishers
* Mizzima News produce and publish total 93 news/features in English and 42 news/features in Burmese.
* Mizzima Monthly Journal (Vol. 3 No. 9) is published and distributed.

October 2005

* Increase the quality of Mizzima News by quality control of reports sent by regular reporters and freelance reporters
* Organize a lobby trip of Burma’s democracy and ethnic activists to Chennai to attend the World Social Forum-India seminar held on 6-7 October 2005.
* Participates in the regular meeting of Burma News International (BNI) meeting held in Thailand.
* Attend the training on environmental reporting in Thailand.
* Participate in the “Protection Seminar for Burma Journalists” organized by Burma News International in Thailand.
* Mizzima News produce and publish total 79 news/features in English and 26 news/features in Burmese.
* Mizzima Monthly Journal (Vol. 3 No. 10) is published and distributed.

November 2005

* Publish “Burma Briefing” jointly with Asian Center for Human Rights.
* Mizzima News produce and publish total 79 news/features in English and 26 news/features in Burmese.
* Mizzima Monthly Journal (Vol. 3 No. 11) is published and distributed.

December 2005

* Prepare for holding a two-day seminar on India’s Role for National Reconciliation in Burma (jointly with Asian Center for Human Rights) in February 2006
* Publish the report on Drug Cultivation and Trafficking on India-Burma border areas in 2005
* Participate in the program that forms Indian Parliamentarians ‘ Forum for Democracy in Burma
* Increase the number of pages of Mizzima Monthly journal from 20 pages to 26 pages in December 2005
* Plan to strengthen Mizzima IT infrastructure at News Delhi office
* Average 1, 000 readers a day for Mizzima website (www.mizzima.com)
* Daily page views of its website is between 7000 – 10000 (Ref: Website Hosting www.brinkster.com).
